Snowstorm in the Rain

It was raining in Jersey City. The kind of gray drizzle that makes you want to stay in, cancel plans, and drink something warm.

In their room, my kids were busy creating weather of their own.

They’d torn apart the white packing filler from an Amazon box and turned it into snow. Flurries flew. Feet thudded. Laughter echoed. And for once, the chaos wasn’t just chaos—it was magic.

I grabbed my camera, because of course I did.

And in that moment, I remembered why I do this. Not for perfection. Not for posing. But for the energy, the mischief, the fleeting seconds when life cracks open—and you catch it. Mid-jump, mid-laugh, mid-snowstorm.

These are the photos that stay with me.
